Steven Hakakian is a retail-focused real estate advisor specializing in tenant representation, multi-market rollout strategy, and the investment sales of retail shopping centers. He graduated with honors from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Business and Finance and began his career in retail-focused real estate family offices before joining EMH Realty, where he gained transactional experience in the sale and disposition of multifamily assets. Following EMH’s acquisition by Schuckman Realty, Steven expanded his practice to advising national and regional retailers on site selection, market entry, and portfolio expansion while also representing owners in the acquisition and disposition of retail assets.
Steven’s tenant representation experience includes leading QSR, grocery, and service-oriented brands such as Popeyes, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Dunkin’, 7 Brew Coffee, Lidl Supermarkets, Bubbakoo’s Burritos, Banfield Pet Hospital, Sherwin-Williams, and Atomic Wings, for which he currently serves as exclusive nationwide broker overseeing the brand’s rollout across the East Coast and select national markets.
In parallel, Steven is active in the investment sales of retail shopping centers, partnering with ownership to create value through strategic leasing, repositioning, and stabilization prior to disposition. His core market is New York City and the boroughs, where he frequently pairs tenant placement with investment sales execution, including recently facilitating the first Amazon Go store in Brooklyn and subsequently marketing the property for sale.
Outside of real estate, Steven is an avid boater and water sports enthusiast.
