It’s been over a year since I started using ChatGPT daily for work and life. As someone who struggled with a writing-related learning disability, I gave up on expressing myself through writing way back in elementary school. For years, I avoided emails and texts, sticking to phone calls and face-to-face meetings to get deals done.
But now, things are different. With ChatGPT, I’ve been able to rediscover my voice. I can write emails, send professional texts, and even negotiate deals with confidence. As I’ve started working on larger deals with institutional investors—where much of the communication happens via email—this has been a game-changer. AI helps me refine my grammar, spelling, and flow, making sure I can clearly communicate and keep up in high-stakes negotiations.
At this point, I don’t see much downside to AI—just opportunities. It’s leveling the playing field for smaller shops like mine, letting us compete with the larger firms. With AI, we can track market trends, generate detailed reports, and analyze data without needing the overhead of an in-house analytics team. That’s a huge advantage for boutique firms that want to stay competitive.
Personally, I’ve been using AI to dig into market reports, identify trends, and focus on deals that have a higher chance of trading. It’s like having an extra set of eyes on the market, always ready to spot opportunities.
When it comes to Brooklyn and NYC, I think we’re going to see some of the most exciting AI-driven innovations here. With resources like the NYC Open Data platform—which is free and one of the best in the world—brokers have access to incredible tools to analyze the market and make smarter decisions.
AI won’t replace us, but it will enhance us. I’m curious: How are you using AI in your work? Has it changed how you communicate or approach deals?
Let’s share ideas and figure out how we can all grow with this technology.
